Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup white chocolate, chopped
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large egg whites
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (for meringue)
- fresh berries, for garnish (optional)
- mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, softened butter, egg, and salt. Blend until a dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into a 9-inch tart pan, ensuring it covers the bottom and sides. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until set. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the chopped white chocolate over a double boiler or microwave until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with ¼ cup granulated sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the melted white chocolate into the whipped cream until combined.
- In another bowl, beat the egg whites until they form soft peaks. Gradually add ¼ cup granulated sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
- Carefully fold the meringue into the white chocolate mixture in thirds until fully incorporated.
- Spoon the mousse into the cooled tart shell, smoothing the top.
- Cover the tart with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, garnish the tart with fresh berries and mint leaves for a vibrant touch.
