Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups water (360 ml)
- 1 ½ cups granulated white sugar (300 g)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste or pure vanilla extract
- optional vanilla bean version: one whole vanilla bean pod split lengthwise
Instructions
- In a small pot, stir together the sugar and water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract or paste.
- Allow the syrup to cool before transferring it to a jar or bottle, using a funnel for ease.
- Store in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
