  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in flour, and cook until slightly nutty. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted. Combine with pasta and keep warm.
  3. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and seasoned breadcrumbs. Coat each chicken strip in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken strips until golden and crispy, then place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. In a separate pan, combine honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until slightly thickened. Coat the chicken strips in the sauce.
