- 1 cup very warm water (110°f)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons oil (olive, avocado or vegetable oil)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Combine 1 cup warm water, 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast, and 1 teaspoon sugar in a stand mixer. Stir and let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Pour the flour mixture into the activated yeast mixture. Mix on slow speed until a dough forms, scraping down sides as needed.
- Knead the dough on medium-high speed for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Add more flour as needed to prevent sticking.
- Knead the dough by hand on a lightly floured surface until a ball forms. Grease a large bowl with 2 teaspoons oil.
- Place the dough ball in the greased bowl, coat with oil, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise until doubled, about 90 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 450°F and grease a pizza pan.
- Roll half of the dough into a 10-12 inch circle. Place on the pizza pan and add your favorite toppings.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until cheese is browned and crust is golden.
- For optional garlic butter, whisk together 1 tablespoon melted butter and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder. Brush on crust after baking.
