Ingredients

  • 6 cups rice krispies or other puffed rice cereal
  • 16 – 20 peeps variety of colors
  • 6 tablespoons butter unsalted or salted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190° C) and lightly spray a disposable aluminum pan or a 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Separate the Peeps by color and arrange them in the bottom of the pan. Pour the rice krispies over the Peeps and shake to level the cereal.
  3. Slice the butter thinly and distribute it evenly on top of the rice krispies. Bake in the oven for 8 minutes.
  4. Use a spatula or spoon coated with non-stick spray to gently mix the melted Peeps with the rice krispies, adding vanilla extract while stirring if desired.
  5. Serve warm for extra softness or cool and cut into squares. For thicker squares, press them into one side of the pan.
