- 2 tablespoons avocado or olive oil
- 2 pounds ground venison or lean ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ½ cup butter (1 stick or 8 tablespoons)
- 1 ½ tablespoons ranch seasoning powder
- 2 tablespoons au jus gravy mix powder
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup venison or beef broth
- ½ cup sliced peperoncini peppers
- ¼ cup juice from pepperoncini peppers jar
- 8 hamburger buns, toasted
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the diced onion and sauté for 3 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
- Add the ground venison or beef to the skillet, cooking and stirring frequently for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the butter until melted and combined with the meat mixture.
- Add ranch seasoning, au jus seasoning, ketchup, broth, sliced pepperoncini, and pepperoncini juice to the skillet.
- Allow the mixture to cook for another 6 to 8 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce thickens.
- Serve the mixture on toasted hamburger buns.
