Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons avocado or olive oil
  • 2 pounds ground venison or lean ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick or 8 tablespoons)
  • 1 ½ tablespoons ranch seasoning powder
  • 2 tablespoons au jus gravy mix powder
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup venison or beef broth
  • ½ cup sliced peperoncini peppers
  • ¼ cup juice from pepperoncini peppers jar
  • 8 hamburger buns, toasted

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
  3. Add the ground venison or beef to the skillet, cooking and stirring frequently for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the butter until melted and combined with the meat mixture.
  5. Add ranch seasoning, au jus seasoning, ketchup, broth, sliced pepperoncini, and pepperoncini juice to the skillet.
  6. Allow the mixture to cook for another 6 to 8 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve the mixture on toasted hamburger buns.
