- 1 cup warm milk
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup fruit jam (strawberry or raspberry)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm milk and sugar in a small bowl, then sprinkle the yeast on top and let sit for about 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add eggs, melted butter, and the activated yeast mixture. Stir to form a soft dough and knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about an hour until doubled.
- Once risen, press the dough into a greased baking pan. Use fingers to create dimples and spoon jam into them.
- Drizzle with olive oil, let rest for another 20 minutes, then bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar right after baking for a delightful finish.
