  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • â…“ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoon unsalted butter chilled and cut into cubes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Arrange the bottoms of the Hawaiian rolls in a single layer, cut side up.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour half of the custard evenly over the rolls, pressing down gently to saturate each piece.
  5. Dip each top half into the remaining custard, soaking it, then place it over its matching bottom, reforming the rolls.
  6. Pour any leftover custard mixture into the gaps between the nested rolls.
