Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 cup shredded gruyère cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl to form meatballs.
  2. Heat a skillet and brown the meatballs, then set them aside.
  3. In the same skillet, cook sliced onions in butter and olive oil until they are caramelized.
  4. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme, stirring well.
  5. Return the browned meatballs to the skillet and let them simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle shredded gruyère cheese on top of the meatballs and broil until the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve the meatballs hot.
