- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- salt and pepper
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 cup shredded gruyère cheese
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl to form meatballs.
- Heat a skillet and brown the meatballs, then set them aside.
- In the same skillet, cook sliced onions in butter and olive oil until they are caramelized.
- Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme, stirring well.
- Return the browned meatballs to the skillet and let them simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle shredded gruyère cheese on top of the meatballs and broil until the cheese is melted.
- Serve the meatballs hot.
