Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 lbs croissants
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 8 eggs
- 1 tablespoon stone ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 6 oz shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 oz shredded gouda
- 8 oz ham cubed
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425ºF.
- Cut the croissants into large pieces and place on a baking sheet. Toast in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes until slightly golden.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the milk, heavy cream, eggs, mustard, garlic powder, mustard powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well mixed.
- Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- Layer half of the toasted croissants in the baking dish, followed by half of the shredded cheeses and half of the cubed ham. Top with the remaining croissants, cheese, and ham.
- Evenly pour the egg mixture over the casserole, pressing down the croissants to ensure they soak up the liquid. Cover with foil and refrigerate for up to 12 hours.
- Before baking, let the casserole sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Then, heat the oven to 350ºF.
- Bake for 30 minutes covered, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden and set.
- Slice and serve warm.
