- 6 apples fuji or gala
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup old fashioned oats
- ¾ cup flour
- 8 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Spray your 6 quart crock pot with nonstick cooking spray.
- Peel, core, and slice the apples.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.
- Transfer the apples to the slow cooker and spread them evenly.
- In another bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, and flour.
- Add thinly sliced butter and mix into the flour mixture until no large butter pieces remain.
- Spread the oat topping evenly over the apples.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours, or until apples are tender.
- For a crispier topping, remove the lid and let the apple crisp sit uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
