Ingredients

  • 6 apples fuji or gala
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup old fashioned oats
  • ¾ cup flour
  • 8 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Spray your 6 quart crock pot with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, toss the apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.
  4. Transfer the apples to the slow cooker and spread them evenly.
  5. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, oats, and flour.
  6. Add thinly sliced butter and mix into the flour mixture until no large butter pieces remain.
  7. Spread the oat topping evenly over the apples.
  8. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 hours, or until apples are tender.
  9. For a crispier topping, remove the lid and let the apple crisp sit uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes.
  10. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
