Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 pound smoked whole bone-in ham (not spiral sliced)
  • 2 Tablespoons coarse-ground mustard
  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar rub
  • 6 fluid ounces (½ a can) Coca Cola
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • ½ cup apricot preserves

Instructions

  1. Place the smoked whole bone-in ham in a 6-8 quart crock pot.
  2. In a bowl, mix the coarse-ground mustard with liquid smoke. Pour over the ham and rub it all over.

  4. Pour Coca Cola around the edges of the ham in the crock pot.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 5-8 hours, avoiding lifting the lid during cooking.

  8. Reserve the ham broth from the slow cooker.
  9. Shred the ham with two forks.
  10. Mix remaining BBQ sauce and half a cup of ham broth into the pulled ham, adjusting moisture to preference.
