Ingredients

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional)
  • 2 tbsp water (optional, for sauce)

Instructions

  1. Cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Thinly slice the beef against the grain and season lightly with soy sauce.
  3. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, and honey or sugar to create the sauce.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the beef to the pan in a single layer and cook until browned; then remove and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, stir-fry the broccoli, bell peppers, and shredded carrots until tender-crisp.
  7. Return the cooked beef to the pan and add the cooked lo mein noodles.
  8. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and toss everything together until well coated.
  9. (Optional) Mix cornstarch with water and add to the pan to thicken the sauce if desired.
  10. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, then serve hot.
