  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 16 ounce store-bought pizza dough
  • ½ cup bbq sauce (divided use)
  • 1 ½2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely diced (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon italian seasoning (optional)
  • fresh or dried parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil, seasoning both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until fully cooked. Rest for 5 minutes and dice.
  3. Grease a pizza pan or baking sheet with olive oil and roll out the pizza dough into a 14-inch circle on a floured surface. Transfer to the prepared pan.
  4. Prick the dough with a fork and parbake in the oven for 5 minutes. Set aside.
  5. Spread half of the BBQ sauce over the parbaked crust, leaving the edges untouched for the crust.
  6. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella over the sauce, then add the diced chicken, crumbled bacon, and diced onion if desired.
  7. Drizzle with the remaining BBQ sauce and sprinkle with the rest of the mozzarella and Italian seasoning if using.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes in the oven until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let the pizza cool for 2-3 minutes and garnish with parsley if desired before slicing and serving.
