- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 16 ounce store-bought pizza dough
- ½ cup bbq sauce (divided use)
- 1 ½ – 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- ¼ cup red onion, finely diced (optional)
- ½ teaspoon italian seasoning (optional)
- fresh or dried parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 475°F. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil, seasoning both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until fully cooked. Rest for 5 minutes and dice.
- Grease a pizza pan or baking sheet with olive oil and roll out the pizza dough into a 14-inch circle on a floured surface. Transfer to the prepared pan.
- Prick the dough with a fork and parbake in the oven for 5 minutes. Set aside.
- Spread half of the BBQ sauce over the parbaked crust, leaving the edges untouched for the crust.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella over the sauce, then add the diced chicken, crumbled bacon, and diced onion if desired.
- Drizzle with the remaining BBQ sauce and sprinkle with the rest of the mozzarella and Italian seasoning if using.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes in the oven until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown.
- Let the pizza cool for 2-3 minutes and garnish with parsley if desired before slicing and serving.
