Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1/4 cup tangerine or orange juice
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1/2 ounce orange liqueur
  • 12 tablespoons honey (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • Ginger beer, for topping (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 additional tablespoons pomegranate juice (for mocktail)
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice (for mocktail)

Instructions

  • Mix coarse sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and cayenne on a plate for the rim.
  • Rim the glass with an orange slice and dip into the sugar mixture.
  • Fill the glass with ice.
  • In a shaker, combine pomegranate juice, orange juice, tequila, orange liqueur, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, cayenne, and rosemary.
  • Shake well, pour into the glass, and top with ginger beer.
  • For the mocktail, skip tequila and orange liqueur, using extra pomegranate and orange juice instead.
