- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 cup frozen cherries, thawed, drained, and chopped (approximately 1/3 cup after preparation)
- 3 tbsp sliced raw almonds
- 20 slices healthy, soft bread
- Heart-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions
- Combine cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, almond extract, and salt in a mixing bowl, and blend until creamy.
- Stir in chopped cherries and sliced almonds until evenly mixed.
- Thaw frozen cherries and set aside.
- Cut 20 heart shapes from the bread using a cookie cutter.
- Spread the cherry-almond cream cheese on one slice of bread and top with another slice to create a sandwich.
