  • 1 ¾ cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided (avoid Nestle brand)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¾ cup Valentine's Day M&M's
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking pan.
  • Melt butter and 1 ⅓ cups chocolate chips in a bowl until smooth. Cool for 5-7 minutes.
  • Whisk in granulated sugar, then add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla.
  • Combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl, then fold into wet mixture.
  • Fold in remaining chocolate chips.
  • Spread batter in prepared pan and top with M&M's.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes; check doneness with a toothpick.
  • Cool completely, then cut into heart shapes or squares.
