These Tahini Caramel Chocolate Bars are a delightful treat with a perfect blend of dark chocolate and creamy tahini caramel. They are easy to prepare, making them a wonderful dessert for any gathering or a satisfying snack at home.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 bars 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted)
  • additional melted chocolate (optional)
  • chopped nuts or sea salt for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring until melted and smooth. Stir in sea salt.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to cool.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix tahini, maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract, melted coconut oil, and sea salt until smooth.
  5. Once the chocolate layer is set, pour the tahini caramel mixture over it, spreading evenly with a spatula.
  6. Return the dish to the refrigerator for another 30-45 minutes to firm up the caramel.
  7. Melt additional chocolate for drizzling, if desired, and add chopped nuts or sea salt on top.
  8. Chill again for 30 minutes to set the top layer.
  9. Use the parchment overhang to lift the bars from the dish and cut into squares or rectangles.
