Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup tahini
- 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted)
- additional melted chocolate (optional)
- chopped nuts or sea salt for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring until melted and smooth. Stir in sea salt.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to cool.
- In a medium bowl, mix tahini, maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract, melted coconut oil, and sea salt until smooth.
- Once the chocolate layer is set, pour the tahini caramel mixture over it, spreading evenly with a spatula.
- Return the dish to the refrigerator for another 30-45 minutes to firm up the caramel.
- Melt additional chocolate for drizzling, if desired, and add chopped nuts or sea salt on top.
- Chill again for 30 minutes to set the top layer.
- Use the parchment overhang to lift the bars from the dish and cut into squares or rectangles.
