- 2.5 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, roughly chopped
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup chopped candies or nuts (optional)
- 4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, divided
- â…› teaspoon coconut oil
- 10–15 cake pop sticks
- Sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 6-inch round cake pan.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Beat egg and mix with sugar until light yellow. Add oil and milk.
- Combine dry ingredients with wet mixture and blend with hot coffee.
- Pour batter into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool.
- Heat cream and sugar until dissolved, then add butter.
- Stir in chocolate and vanilla; cool completely.
- Crumble the cooled cake and mix with frosting.
- Shape into balls and insert sticks; freeze for 1 hour.
- Melt remaining chocolate and dip each pop; decorate.
- Chill until coating is set.
