- 1 pound rigatoni
- Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
- Fresh parsley or basil, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion, carrot, and celery; cook until softened.
- Add ground beef and pork; brown evenly.
- Stir in tomato paste; cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add crushed tomatoes, whole milk, nutmeg, salt, and pepper; combine well.
- Simmer the sauce uncovered for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Boil salted water; cook rigatoni according to package instructions.
- Reserve pasta water before draining.
- Mix rigatoni with sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
- Serve warm with Parmesan and fresh herbs.
