Ingredients

  • 2 ½ tablespoons packed brown sugar

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed but still cold
  • ¼ cup pecans, chopped
  • ½ cup pumpkin butter
  • 8-ounce wheel of brie
  • 1 egg
  • Coarse sugar for sprinkling (optional)
  • Cinnamon stick & fresh sage for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400ºF.
  • Roll puff pastry into a 10-inch square.
  • Create a circle with chopped pecans and pumpkin butter at the center.
  • Cut top rind off the brie and place it over the mixture.
  • Fold pastry corners over brie, brushing with egg wash at each fold.
  • Wrap brie with cooking twine and tie securely.
  • Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Brush with egg wash mixture and sprinkle coarse sugar.
  • Bake for 20-35 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool for 10-15 minutes, then remove twine and garnish.
