- 2 sheets of puff pastry
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 to 1½ cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
- Powdered sugar, sifted, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Layer one sheet of puff pastry on top of another and press together.
- Cut out heart shapes with a cookie cutter and transfer them to a baking sheet.
- Brush tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for about 10 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Cool pastries on a wire rack.
- Prepare the filling by whipping cream if made from scratch.
- Slice each pastry heart in half, fill with whipped cream and strawberries.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
