- 3/4 cup (168 g) unsalted butter, softened (for topping)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp salt (for topping)
- 1 cup (112 g) chopped pecans
Instructions
- Heat milk to 105-110°F and mix with yeast and sugar; let sit until foamy.
- Combine flour, salt, and sugar in a stand mixer.
- Add whisked eggs, softened butter, and vanilla extract to dry ingredients.
- Mix in foamy yeast mixture and knead until smooth; let rise until doubled.
- Create filling by mixing butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Mix sticky topping ingredients until smooth in a separate bowl.
- Roll risen dough into an 18 x 12 inch rectangle and spread filling evenly.
- Roll tightly into a log, slice, and arrange in a greased dish over topping.
- Let buns rise again, then bake at 350°F for 40-45 minutes until golden.
