  • 1 1/3 cup (293 g) brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup (168 g) unsalted butter, softened (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp salt (for topping)
  • 1 cup (112 g) chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Heat milk to 105-110°F and mix with yeast and sugar; let sit until foamy.
  • Combine flour, salt, and sugar in a stand mixer.
  • Add whisked eggs, softened butter, and vanilla extract to dry ingredients.
  • Mix in foamy yeast mixture and knead until smooth; let rise until doubled.
  • Create filling by mixing butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Mix sticky topping ingredients until smooth in a separate bowl.
  • Roll risen dough into an 18 x 12 inch rectangle and spread filling evenly.
  • Roll tightly into a log, slice, and arrange in a greased dish over topping.
  • Let buns rise again, then bake at 350°F for 40-45 minutes until golden.
