  • 3 large whole eggs
  • 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 pound bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and toast whole almonds for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  • In a large bowl, mix sugar, melted butter, orange liqueur, dark rum, vanilla extract, and orange zest.
  • Beat in the eggs until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a thick dough forms.
  • Chill dough for 30 minutes, then shape into a loaf on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown, then cool for 15 minutes.
  • Slice loaf into 12 pieces, then cut each in half.
  • Arrange slices cut side down on baking sheets and bake for another 15-20 minutes.
  • Melt chocolate in the microwave until smooth and dip biscotti ends in it.
