- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons (270ml) cold buttermilk, divided
- 2 teaspoons (14g) honey
- 1 cup (125g) shredded cheddar cheese
- Topping:
- 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried or fresh chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C).
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Fold in shredded cheddar cheese.
- Add buttermilk and honey; stir until just combined.
- Gather and form dough into a rectangle; flatten to ¾-inch thickness.
- Fold the dough in half and repeat three times.
- Cut out biscuits, avoiding twisting the cutter.
- Place biscuits close together on a baking sheet.
- Brush with buttermilk and bake for 18-22 minutes until golden.
- Mix topping ingredients and brush over warm biscuits.
