Instructions

  • Wash apples in a vinegar solution and let them dry.
  • Insert sticks firmly into the tops of the apples.

  • Melt butter in a large nonstick Dutch oven over medium heat.
  • Add sugars, Karo syrup, and sweetened condensed milk; stir to combine.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly until it reaches 240°F.
  • Remove from heat; mix in salt and vanilla extract.
  • Dip each apple into the warm caramel, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Place dipped apples on the parchment-lined baking sheet to cool.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate over cooled apples and add toppings.
