Ingredients
Scale
- 500g raw prawns, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- cooked pasta or rice (for serving)
Instructions
- Start by peeling and deveining the prawns. Mince the garlic and chop the parsley.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the prawns to the skillet. Season them with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
- Once cooked, remove the prawns from the skillet and set them aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, scraping any bits off the bottom. Bring to a simmer.
- Stir in the heavy cream and continue to simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Return the prawns to the skillet and mix well to coat them in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the dish for freshness and color.
- Remove from heat, and serve over your choice of cooked pasta or rice.
