  • Total Time: 0 hours
  • Yield: N/A

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g raw prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • cooked pasta or rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Start by peeling and deveining the prawns. Mince the garlic and chop the parsley.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the prawns to the skillet. Season them with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
  5. Once cooked, remove the prawns from the skillet and set them aside.
  6. In the same skillet, pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, scraping any bits off the bottom. Bring to a simmer.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and continue to simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Return the prawns to the skillet and mix well to coat them in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the dish for freshness and color.
  10. Remove from heat, and serve over your choice of cooked pasta or rice.
