Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water (95-105°F)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • to cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup raisins
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1½ tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted (for brushing)

Instructions

  • Grease two bread pans with butter.
  • Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let froth for 5-10 minutes.
  • Add avocado oil, salt, the egg, and half the flour. Mix well.
  • Gradually add remaining flour until the dough pulls away from sides.
  • Knead in raisins for about three minutes. Let the dough rise until doubled.
  • Divide dough and roll into rectangles. Spread butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon mixture on each rectangle.
  • Roll the dough tightly and place in greased pans. Let rise again.
  • Brush with egg wash and let rise until puffed up.
  • Bake at 350°F for 28-30 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter after baking.
