- 2 cups warm water (95-105°F)
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 5½ to 5¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup raisins
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1½ tablespoons cinnamon
- 1 large egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted (for brushing)
Instructions
- Grease two bread pans with butter.
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let froth for 5-10 minutes.
- Add avocado oil, salt, the egg, and half the flour. Mix well.
- Gradually add remaining flour until the dough pulls away from sides.
- Knead in raisins for about three minutes. Let the dough rise until doubled.
- Divide dough and roll into rectangles. Spread butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon mixture on each rectangle.
- Roll the dough tightly and place in greased pans. Let rise again.
- Brush with egg wash and let rise until puffed up.
- Bake at 350°F for 28-30 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter after baking.
