- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cinnamon stick (or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- 1 tablespoon cardamom pods, lightly crushed (or 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom)
- 8 ounces (1 cup) bourbon
- 4 ounces (1/2 cup) fresh lemon juice
- 4 ounces (1/2 cup) fresh orange juice
- 3–4 tablespoons maple cardamom syrup
- 3–4 dashes bitters
- Ginger beer, for topping (optional)
- Orange zest and sugared cranberries, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the maple cardamom syrup by boiling water, maple syrup, cinnamon, and cardamom for 2-3 minutes.
- In a rocks glass, stir bourbon, lemon juice, orange juice, bitters, and maple cardamom syrup.
- Fill the glass with ice and top with ginger beer, if desired.
- Garnish with sugared cranberries and an orange slice.
