- 25–30 Saltine crackers (or Ritz)
- 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup toasted and chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 cup butter (browned and cooled)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 & â…“ cups flour
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil.
- Arrange Saltine crackers in a single layer.
- Melt ½ cup butter and ½ cup brown sugar, boil for 4-5 minutes.
- Pour caramel over crackers and bake for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel, let sit, then spread.
- Brown 1 cup butter, cool, and then mix with sugars.
- Add eggs and vanilla, mix until smooth.
- Combine dry ingredients and add to wet, mix gently.
- Fold in Christmas Crack, scoop dough onto sheet, freeze for 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°F, bake cookies for about 13 minutes.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 20 minutes before transferring.
