  • 2530 Saltine crackers (or Ritz)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toasted and chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup butter (browned and cooled)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 & â…“ cups flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil.
  • Arrange Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  • Melt ½ cup butter and ½ cup brown sugar, boil for 4-5 minutes.
  • Pour caramel over crackers and bake for 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel, let sit, then spread.
  • Brown 1 cup butter, cool, and then mix with sugars.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, mix until smooth.
  • Combine dry ingredients and add to wet, mix gently.
  • Fold in Christmas Crack, scoop dough onto sheet, freeze for 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F, bake cookies for about 13 minutes.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 20 minutes before transferring.
