- 12 -oz spaghetti, or Bucatoni
- 1½ cups cooked chopped chicken
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 -lb bacon, for the top
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese, for the top
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add pasta and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
- In a little of the bacon grease, cook the ham until heated, then add brown sugar and toss until the ham is golden. Remove and set aside.
- Melt the butter over medium heat, whisk in the flour and seasonings until bubbly. Gradually whisk in the milk, half-and-half, and chicken broth until smooth, cooking until thickened, about 7 to 8 minutes.
- Lower the heat, stir in cheddar and 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Add chicken and ham, cover and keep warm. Toss cooked pasta with the sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Top with crumbled bacon and extra Parmesan.
