- 2 – 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, finely chopped and drained
- ¼ cup granulated sugar for rolling
- 24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in salt, maraschino cherry juice, and almond extract; add food coloring if desired.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour until a soft, non-sticky dough forms.
- Fold in chopped maraschino cherries.
- Scoop and roll dough into balls, then roll in granulated sugar.
- Place on baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden.
- Press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie right after baking.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
