- 1 large egg, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 and 1/4 cups (225g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup (8 Tbsp; 113g) unsalted butter
- 8 ounces (228g) coarsely chopped quality semi-sweet chocolate
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) packed light brown sugar
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons (78g) all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)
- 2 Tablespoons (10g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a deep-dish 9-inch pie pan.
- For the cookie layer, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
- Beat softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate chips and press into the prepared pan.
- For the brownie layer, melt butter and chopped chocolate, then cool and whisk in sugars, eggs, and vanilla.
- Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt, and spread batter over the cookie layer.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
