- 6 cups blackberries (fresh or frozen)

- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons lemon zest
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Incorporate cold Crisco or butter until coarse.
- Add cold water, mix gently, and chill dough for 30-60 minutes.
- Roll out dough, line a pie plate with one crust, and cut other into strips for lattice top.
- Prepare filling by mixing blackberries with sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, zest, and vanilla.
- Pour filling into crust and arrange lattice strips on top.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush crust with egg wash and sprinkle sugar.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes until filling bubbles and crust is golden.
